Welcome to Steam in the Blood.
Steam in the Blood is an independent website. We are not affiliated to any single Heritage railway and we don't rely on adverts - we simply try to bring you the best photographs of steam in the South West.
We're possibly the only independent site to bring you a gallery devoted to volunteers - those wonderful people who keep our Heritage railways moving. Enthusiasts aren't forgotten either with 'The Mess Room' a page devoted to all the latest news and events from railway sites and locomotive owners around the country. We've now published our Galleries of photographs taken at the West Somerset Railway's Autumn Gala. Images so far are from Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday, with Maureen's Sunday images to follow. This time we have a gallery for each of us and our work to simplify matters. The Galleries are to be found under the West Somerset Railway 2009 Galleries main heading.
We've now published our first Gallery of photographs taken at the South Devon Railway's Heritage Transport Weekend. Click here to view. Includes images of 4566 on hire from the S.V.R and 4247 from the Bodmin and Wenford Railway. A second Gallery will appear soon.
Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July - 121 images from the South Devon Railway's 1940s Weekend are now in a Gallery. Volunteer photographs from the same days have been added to the Volunteers Gallery, giving this gallery a total of 224 images.
